I moved to Berlin in 2009 and found it horrendous. I since revised my judgement and don’t plan on leaving the German capital anytime soon. When I’m not buried into the archives desperately trying to give shape to a PhD in Early Modern History’s correspondences, I explore Berlin cemeteries and sometimes walk people through it. I currently teach German to refugees in a Berlin school and enjoy the precarious status of freelance journalist for various medias: I’m one of France24 and RFI correspondents, I’ve written this for Libération, and also worked for Le Temps, Radio Canada & TV, Les Inrocks... I funded my studies by reporting on gigs and art exhibitions for the local press, and co-wrote a book about West America. When I’m not doing any of the above, I love talking about it here.
